Contour Design’s UniTrap for iMac/G3

If you’re an iMac or G3 user and you’re still using the original Apple USB round mouse, we need to talk. For less than 15 bucks, you can say adios to your iMac or G3’s hockey puck mouse, once and for all. You know, just do it!
Enter Contour Design’s UniTrap, a three-piece snap-on shell which will transform a round mouse into a more ergonomic creature.
Amazingly, the $14.99 budget-minded package includes all five yummy iMac flavors, which are actually interchangeable buttons which fit nicely into a translucent shell.
You can go a little wild and experiment with all of the flavors– mix and match, if you’d like. Take a blueberry iMac and snap on a grape button on your UniTrap! For Halloween, you could go with the Tangerine button. You get the picture. For Valentine’s Day, try strawberry. Or, if you’re into consistency, just match it to the original flavor–the choice is all yours.
Here’s how it works: just follow a three-step assembly process which involves removing the plastic sides of the original Apple mouse and place the puck (I mean, mouse) into the bottom shell of the UniTrap. After aligning the cord, you simply snap on the top shell being sure to lower the front and align the clip before snapping the tail clip into place. The plastic sides on the original Apple mouse are a bit sharp, but other than that, it was a cinch to do. If I can do it, you’ll have no problems.
Although not as comfy as Contour’s UniMouse (the sides aren’t padded), it tranforms the flimsy round mouse into a solid, full-sized cool-looking mouse.
In fact, the UniTrap is perfect for students, computer labs and libraries or anyone on a budget who wants a more ergonomic mouse at a bargain price.
The mouse fits comfortably into your hand (”Universal” palm support) and since it doesn’t add additional width to the 3″ diameter round mouse, it’s simple to maneuver. Serious web surfers will also appreciate the large contoured button for better clicking!
Now comes the dilemma of what to do with the two plastic sides from the original round mouse! Drill a couple of holes in them and they’ll make some sharp earrings! Any other ideas?
